About Me

I'm an assistant professor in the College of Information Sciences and Technology at the Penn State University. My research lies in the intersection of HCI, CSCW, and social computing. My most current research interests are governance and play. Xinning Gui and I co-run the Health and Play lab at Penn State.

I received my PhD in 2016 from UC, Irvine under the supervision of Bonnie Nardi, during which I studied video games and civic technologies. Then I went to work with Colin M. Gray and Robin S. Adams at Purdue University as a postdoctoral researcher (2016 - 2018), focusing on understanding UX design discourse and knowledge on social media. I was an assistant professor in the iSchool at the Florida State University from 2018 to 2019, and joined Penn State in Fall 2019.
